Here is what we found missing in thousands of resumes:
1. Summary: A resume should have a short summary at the top so that a recruiter does not have to go through the entire document.
2. Length: It should have most of your work details on the first half of page. Recruiters might not even scroll down to the second half of page 1, let alone page 2.
3. Format: PDF resumes or resumes with images/graphics are not compatible with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), only Word versions are.
4. Description: Most resumes have very long descriptions — work experiences should be described in a few bullet points.
5. Evidence: Most resumes do not have evidence or data points that testify for your skills & expertise.
6. Customization:
A resume is not a one-size-fits-all document. You need to customize your resume for every job you apply to.
This is probably why most resumes don't receive interview calls.
Keeping this in mind, Mumbai Multimedia Studio's - Mumbai 400008 - is happy to announce the Resume Review Drive — an initiative to invite job seekers to submit their resumes & have a chance to get them thoroughly assessed by me at no cost.
The review will highlight key parameters that recruiters use to assess resumes.
A few selected resumes will be assessed by me in a video format that will be posted on our YouTube handle & also shared back with you. We will mask your confidential information.
Find out how you can make your resume stand out in competition - Please help spread the word so that the right person can benefit.
