Am I the only one who thinks that the slums of Mumbai will never disappear because they provide Shiv Sena and Thackeray's the vote-bank they need to stay in power? Need your opinion on a political essay I am writing.
This is a curious observation of mine that any time anyone remotely went on re-develope slums or any real estate firms that engaged in slum rehabilitation through Mumbai they were either shutdown by proxy NGO's or some sort of scam accusation.
Irrespective of party in power BJP, NCP, Congress slums were curiously never touched. Even Indian MNCs and real estate firms shy away from slum rehabilitation. What do you guys think?
