According to the agency that maintains the Masjid al-Haram, the capacity of this air-conditioning system is 159,000 tons.
The agency is trying to keep the cooling system in Masjid-e-Haram free from all kinds of germs and the air spread in Masjid-e-Haram with these air conditioners is 100% free from all kinds of germs.
The cooling system uses up to 159,000 tons of refrigerated energy and is considered one of the largest cooling systems in the world.
The system is powered by two stations, the largest in the world. The Shamiya plant produces 120,000 refrigeration tons of energy, while the Ajiad station has a production capacity of 39,000 refrigeration tons
