In other countries the best talent starts to work as a consultant. Hence they get paid higher. They get paid by the hour.

Interestingly in India if you call an electrician or a plumber for a small job he will charge much more than his daily wage for the same job.

Consultants in India however charge much more than salaried employees. Freelancers on the other hand can either get paid more or less depending on their skills. But generally freelancers are paid lower than employees. Freelancers are surely paid lower than consultants in India.
