The Secondary school Certificate (SSC, std X) and higher secondary certificate (HSC, std XII) board examinations scheduled for February and in March will be held as per the timetable, the state board Authorities said.
Schools and Colleges have been given freedom to conduct oral and practical for the Exams as per their schedule but the offline exams will be conducted as declared. "Schools Can Conduct the internal Exams of students on their own management. The written exams will be held as per the timetable announced earlier. However, based on the situation before the exam, a decision will be made.
The Syllabus has been Reduced by 25%. Students have been demanding a reduction in the difficulty level of the exam. This Year, the Practical exams will start from February 14 along with oral Examination.
Last Month, the state board Announced the timetable for SSC and HSC Exams.
Accordingly, the HSC exam will begin on March 4 whereas the SSC exam will start from March 15. Nearly 32 lakh Students will appear for the state board exams collectively for SSC and HSC from Maharashtra.
Last year, both the Exams were Cancelled after several days of uncertainty.
The State Government first cancelled the SSC board exam in May 2020, but put off any decision on the HSC Exam. The board then announced an assessment formula for the Std X students.
Two national boards, CBSE and CICSE, have planned their Std X and XII exams in two terms and will not Announce the pass or fail status for the term 1 examination which was conducted in Nov - Dec 2020.
Their Second term Exams are likely to be held in March-April, this year. Students have to appear for both term examinations.
