I do have a confession to make it. It's really difficult to write a good wrap-up email that goes out on Independence Day. The stakes are too high. Saying anything about the largest democracy in the world, on her birthday, means striking just the right tone of poignancy, hope, and nostalgia.
But a minute away from August 15, I'm not going to attempt anything like that. Instead, I'm just going to talk to you about a fleeting moment of happiness that ballooned inside me last night. The first night, in one-and-a-half years, that I felt free from the fear that has gripped the entire world, and put all of us in a state of social, economic, and emotional deep freeze. Some of that fear thawed yesterday. And when I looked up, I saw the buildings around me light up in the tri-colour. Purely coincidental. Slightly poetic.
It strikes me now, as I write this, that the absence of fear itself was freeing. It's a feeling that's worth revisiting I think, especially with more tough times ahead for the country. Freedom is fuel, and we use it liberally when we're trying to bring you the best, boldest stories from the business world. This last week was no different.
