Social unity and cohesion are what make the Saudi society really amazing! We are brought up learning that family ties always come first. And that’s why you never see homeless Saudis on the streets of Saudi Arabia! When someone loses their job, their family and relatives will take care of them financially. When a woman gets divorced, her family will invite her back home to help raise the kids. Parents never go to senior care centers, because their sons and daughter will take care of them (they will invite the parents to their house until the very last day of their lives!).
A government that actually supports the people. Each Saudi is entitled to free education (from kindergarten through graduate school), free healthcare, no income tax and subsidized gas and water prices. The government offers 80% discount on work commute fees using Uber for low-paid female employees. Unemployment allowance is given to unemployed graduates in their first year, among other great programs that elevate the well-being of the society.
The country is very, very safe! Saudi Arabia is ranked the safest country among the G-20 countries—safer than the US, the UK, France, China and Russia! Rape, theft and mass shootings are almost non-existent. Children can play in the middle of the night without being harmed. You will find your wallet if you drop it. Women can walk alone at night without being harassed.
As a result, Saudi Arabia is ranked the 11th happiest nation in the world, according to the World’s Happiness Report, 2021
