What was went wrong for the Pakistan cricket team against Australian in the T-20 World Cup semi-final?
Also, the another one - What would you say about the way Matthew Wade hitting Pakistani out from the T20 World Cup FINAL?
There is a famous said line in cricket
“There is Australian Cricket”
and “ There is Australian Cricket in knock out matches”
All past record continued, similar scene was there in 2010 T-20 world semis too.
Then and now hero's changed but team is same. Aussies in knock out do perform really well.
And for Pakistan who is yet blaming for that drop catch which leads to 3 six by Wade. Poor Hasan Ali he was unlucky today, but after that 3 consecutive six just crashed bowlers dream.
Aussies were outstanding today. On lighter note
They denied his cake, he denied ticket to final.
This man, Mathew Wade. King Mathew Wade. Absolute madness. This man gave happiness to a billion people in India. He along with Warner & Stoinis, other stars of the match, made sure Pakistan doesn’t reach finals. Indian fans were mocked and memes were made against India. Well, it did not last long.
That pain of 24th October is much less now. Anyways, let’s see the reasons.
· Fast bowling- Apart from Shaheen Afridi, no fast bowler impressed. Also, in case of Afridi, all his wickets in this tournament have been against right-hand batsmen. So Wade being a left hander, took him to cleaners. Also, Hasan Ali has been a disaster for Pakistan who was fielded just to maintain winning combination. Rouf bowled fast but at wrong lines and length. You can’t frighten Aussies who play Starc at nets, with raw pace.
· 2nd spinner- Compare the economy of Maxwell who is a part timer and Pakistani spinners other than Shadab. Dew was not much today so Pakistan did expect second spinner to bowl well, something which did not happen.
· Poor fielding- No. I am not talking only about that drop catch in the second last over. There were many missed runout chances. One was of Warner as well. And to top it all, that crucial drop catch of Wade.
· Leaked runs- This was the difference. Pakistan during their batting left themselves too much to do at the end while Australia did exactly the opposite. They maintained a healthy run-rate and never allowed required-rate to rise exponentially. Australia not only maintained healthy strike rate at the start, they hit regular boundaries even when 5 wickets were down. Stoinis played the aggressor at the start and later took the anchor’s role.
Anyway, it was one hell of a match. Thriller. Happy ending for Indian fans and sad ending for Pakistani fans.
Note- If you were expecting me to write like “As a cricket fan, I wanted our neighbours to win. Let’s not mix cricket and politics. Sports brings people closer etc etc”, then I am not sorry. Countless Indians are happy today, and so am I. If you aren’t, then give a rethink.
Thank you.
