First, let me talk about the allegations against Manish Sisodia & a little about political campaigns in India.
India’s elections are the world’s most expensive elections. 2019 elections cost an unprecedented Rs 50,000 crore ($7 billion), according to the New Delhi-based Centre for Media Studies. About $6.5 billion was spent during the U.S. presidential and congressional races in 2016.
Can you believe this?
let me add something more interesting:
Above mentioned value amounts to roughly $8 spent per voter in a country where about 60 percent of the population lives on around $3 a day.
So, you must have a lot of money to fight elections in India.
State elections are even more expensive than Lok Sabha elections. Needless to say that BJP has a lot of black money because they aren’t just ruling centre but many states too. Moreover they obviously have no fear of ED, CBI and IT. Congress also has money because they are an old party and has backing from many of their loyal industrialists. But what about a new party like AAP? How could they fund UP, GOA, Gujrat, Uttarakhand and Himachal simultaneously? That too on all seats?
If we talk about only Gujrat, AAP aggressively campaigned with their face on almost all top selling newspapers. Their adds were all over on all prime time shows in almost all high TRP news channels, hundreds of massive rallies, top leadership flew through private jets. It would have easily cost them at least 1000 crore. Most of which had to be black money.
What are the ways to get so much of black money? Let’s see :
Take rich people on board irrespective of how clean they are. An example is the richest MLA of Punjab, Kulwant Singh who has reportedly grabbed lands of poor.
Selling Rajya Sabha MP tickets and taking industrialists like Sanjeev Arora on board who had absolutely no political background and is in no position to add any value to Punjab.
Reducing the profit of government to help private players, as it has happened in Delhi liquor scam.
Giving tenders to friends by neglecting the guidelines set by authorities, as it has happened in 1000 low floor DTC buses purchase case in Delhi.
Extending tenders by taking bribes as it has happened in Delhi Jal Board Scam. Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) has arrested a joint director of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) in connection with a Rs 20 crore e-kiosk water bill scam.
Showing toilets as classrooms to fetch more money from exchequer as it has happened in 1300 crore classroom scam in Delhi. Sisodia will again be a prime suspect in this case.
There are many more such ways to make money. Money made through these ways is then sent from one state to other through Hawala network, which was being run by Satender Jain for AAP.
In short, it is impossible for any political party to not indulge in corruption. It’s just that today its BJP in centre so they are safe, tomorrow if Congress returns to power, BJP leaders will be arrested by them on charges of corruption. They cannot survive without corruption.
Top leadership of a party is what makes all the difference. They generally get these tasks down by disposable members of the team. In case of AAP, top leadership has to execute corruption by themselves because they want to grow at an unprecedented pace. They want to build a cadre all over the country, overnight. They also want international fame at the same time, which costs huge amount of money.
I am 100% sure that all charges against Manish Sisodia are true. There are technical evidences to prove them. Sisodia changing several phones in short period of time is the biggest signal that he knew that he will be caught some day.
Now let’s understand why he has resigned as soon as he was arrested.
It was done to get bail.
As a minister, you are in better position to destroy evidences and influence witnesses. That makes it difficult for you to get bail.
Bail is denied primarily for below reasons :
When agencies need custody to gather new evidences based on interrogation during remand.
When you can be a threat to witnesses.
When you can be expected to destroy evidences.
When you have already made attempts to destroy evidences, that includes but not limited to electronic evidences.
Sisodia has already been involved in destroying evidences so it is extremely difficult for him to get bail especially being a minister. He will be denied bill till the time agencies need his custody and they are able to produce some new evidences to court on each hearing.
By resigning from ministerial positions, he has allowed himself a better chance to get bail. His lawyer can now say that since he is no more a minister & it’s a fake case, my client will cooperate & turn up for any questioning whenever required, plz allow him conditional bail.
In short, in my opinion Sisodia is the main conspirator of this liquor scam. He destroyed evidences as soon as a case was filed in this case because he knew that he will be caught. He will stay in jail for at least few months. Before he comes out, other cases related to Delhi government will also reach to advance stages and he will be arrested in them too.
So Kejriwal’s greed to see him to be the PM of India in just few years has put his friends behind bars. The cunning chap is too smart to be caught but day isn’t far.
