Whom will you prefer as the PM of India - NM, AS or YA! Why???

Well, If BJP wants to consolidate as an all India based party, at least now someone from south India and who is dynamic in age and with personal charisma is needed. Right now, BJP in south India is only a token presence except Karnataka. I am analysing the picture from the BJP point of view and not any great all India perspective because, in our country, the real PM is the bureaucracy who hold the entire country in a well knit administration and who control the policies & yojanas. Of course sometimes, it goes wrong because while announcing the policies, the politicians add publicity stunts like demonetization.

This policy was mooted by the bureaucracy, but while announcing it, Modi (as usual occupying the full TV frame with no space for anyone else) sad something like so many Rs lakhs for everyone in the population, which did not come through. The fact of the matter of course remains that the so-called black money ended up as white money in the banks. At least as far as Tamilnadu is concerned, Jayalalitha as a woman from filmdom ended up as the most ever administrator while she was CM of Tamilnadu and fluent in native Tamil, English and Hindi besides Telugu, Kannada and a bit of Malayalam.

Of course her failure was her being lured into corruption by her soul-mate Sasikala. Like this, NTR from filmdom in Andhra Pradesh became a highly popular CM there and MGR from filmdom became a highly popular CM in Tamilnadu, but bother were personally incapable of administering and depended massively on bureaucrats. I myself in my then capacity as a class one officer attended the review meetings taken by Jayalalitha as CM in 1993 during the unprecedented drought of Chennai water supply and admired how well-prepared she was for the meetings and how many times she has made bureaucrats and police officers bite the dust.

Sum and substance, the secret of a successful party leader leading the country in our Indian context is a personality whose image counts among the public and the ability of that person to astutely understand the bureaucracy and take them along and speak only that much in public (like Narasimha Rao as the PM who will speak fewer words only but bailed out India at the time of the great economic devaluation and jelled person to person with leader of opposition Vajpayee and overnight restored the situation)

All in all, my choice will be Kushboo who fits into the above mentioned traits to the maximum extent by way of most important, the popularity of public face, multiple languages, already in BJP, seen on TV as a knowledgeable debater many times and above all, a person of Muslim origin by birth but has married into Hindu family and sports the tilak without hesitation in public and above all, the age is on her side. With all this, it will be for the RSS to cast the vote. There will be situations coming up in the PM laying the foundation stone at Hindu religious ceremonies, but then at least hereafter there can be a democratic culture of the concerned line Ministry given that responsibility as long as he/she is a Hindu or another minister in seniority. This is a country where it was reported that the president himself was reportedly declined entry at some Hindu religious place and he had the diplomacy to honour it. Ultimately, it is the individual’s disposition.

Let us not forget the ascension to the throne by the present Queen of UK at her age of 25 all of a sudden after her father passed away unexpectedly at only 57 years of age and her piloting through from 1952 till date though not in an executive capacity in recent times Views expressed are entirely as a citizen...
