Then he forwarded the decision to the opposite guy within the shop who said the client gave him Rs. 3500 in cash and asked my friend to share her google pay number or QR code of her UPI.
Once she provided him the QR code, she received asking to pay Rs. 3500. She inquired why is that so, he replied, that's how their system works, you wish to pay them first then only they'll return you the complete amount Rs. 7000 (3500 return and 3500 cost of bed). She didn't pay them 3500 but 1999. In next 5-mins she received a call saying they weren't ready to repay the quantity because of some server issue and ask her to send another Rs.1000. My friend trusted them and paid Rs.1000. They again called and gave the identical reason. My friend then scolded him saying she don't want to sell the bed anymore and asked them to return the number she already paid. But the opposite guy convinced her that they need been working for years and such things happens.
They knew that they had already trapped my friend and hence they requested for INR 6000, then INR 12000 and eventually INR 24000 and my friend ended up paying Rs.45000 to sell her bed of Rs.3500 hoping the server issue will get resolved within the next transactions.
When she informed me, it had been too late. I called them to inquire but it absolutely was very shocking on behalf of me that they tried to fool me the identical way with none fear. Even they threatened me that if my friend don't accept the further request then my friend won't be receiving the quantity. They further mentioned that this is their daily job and that they do transactions in lakhs.

No buyer will buy a furniture or a vehicle on faith its condition nose to nose.
If they assert they'll pay the number beforehand and someone will collect the merchandise, just block that buyer - you'll ask to send the money with the one that will collect the merchandise - they may say that, they're out of station, they need their 2nd hand showroom and hence sending a labour etc etc…don't fall for such things. Better you evoke cash on delivery or Gpay/paytm on delivery only.
***Update***
As we've got reported the fraud case within 24-hours and filed an FIR, my friend got her a refund from the bank. Though they took few months to verify the claim we made, but she got the complete amount back. We haven't heard back from the Police yet if they were able to nab the frauds, hope they did.
