Happy Diwali TO all our friend and foes, subscriber and well wisher of Mumbai Multimedia Studio! Most of our team is on a break for the festival, so we aren’t publishing any article or an newsletter this time around. But we thought it’d be a nice moment to introduce something special we’ve been working on— transcripts!

Ever since we first launched the show, providing transcripts for these episodes has been a consistent request from a lot of people who prefer reading over listening. So that’s what we’re doing this Diwali—dropping the transcript for our latest episode with the co-founder and CEO of Razorpay, who joined us last week to talk about a bunch of different themes. From his love for coding and his early days as a rogue programmer, to the accidental journey of building Razorpay, and much more around product development and company culture. There’s one specific part of the episode where CEO says, “… and usually when data and anecdotes don’t match, it’s the data that is wrong.” I’ve been thinking about that quote ever since. If you want to listen along, you can tune in on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever else you get your podcasts. Here are some themes that we touch upon in this episode.

  1. How does CEO of Rp define Razorpay?

  2. The founding of Razorpay—how the love for coding and a drive to find real solutions helped build the company

  3. The breadth of what Razorpay offers customers and why it does so

  4. Razorpay’s principles of product development—how the company finds customers, builds solutions, and accepts failures.

  5. The importance of thoughtfully, and deliberately, building company culture.

  6. Y Combinator’s role in Razorpay’s journey, and

  7. A really fun set of short questions at the end

All of this and more is in our transcript. That’s it from us today. I’ll go back to distributing soan-papdi to relatives and neighbour now. Hope you have a Diwali that’s warm and full of light. You’ll hear from us with another brilliant story continuously.
