Today is the last day of #COP-27 organized by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC UN). Previous to this there were COP-26 meetings. The Climate Change is not stopping, not slowing down, rather it is accelerating. This is despite all the discussions, pledges, and legally binding agreements by the top leaders of the countries. The crux of the matter, climate change, is Carbon emissions and the solution is to cut down on the carbon emissions. Despite all actions, in reality, carbon emissions are rising, rather than declining. In my view, no meeting, including COP meetings and action would be effective until we follow some fundamental laws of living on this planet. Now, I started calling them #yusufbhandarkar fundamental laws of sustainability or human existence on the planet . If you want to sustain, we must follow these laws. Law-1: “In an ecosystem of finite resources there has to be FINITE CONSUMPTION” Law-2: “In an ecosystem of finite resources there has to be DISTRIBUTED PRODUCTION”. Neither are we limiting our consumption” nor are we “localizing our production”???? We violate these prevailing laws every day. Governments, industries, policy makers, innovators, educators, social workers, environmentalist etc none of them were following these laws, because only a handful would understand and recognize them as fundamental laws of existence. What’s your take? Lemme know!!!
