And No, it is not about Cricket alone.
From past many years, I have not been following IPL apart from the playoffs and final. This year I only watched the final between CSK and KKR. But the recent change intrigued me.
It's not what CSK and KKR did during the match but what Dhoni and his team did after winning the IPL trophy 2021. And that is Honoring their families. Sharing the trophy with their Spouses and children, clicking photos with each other's family. It was heartwarming.I haven't seen the same in any other sports.
The fact that IPL of 2008 wherein the trend was of late night parties by cricketers and watching dancing cheerleaders to the tournament transforming into a culture of sharing happiness with families in 2021; makes me feel howsoever we try to glamorize the sport our values will bring it back to origin.
Family is and will be above all, for us Indians and it is good to see the World is following in the same steps. Cricket is truly a Gentlemen's Game. A gentleman would always honor his family.
Some beautiful moments and may be a game changer for future.
