The most common form of networking is people asking for jobs. This really does not work. Imagine if you get 100 emails/messages everyday asking for jobs will you be able to help people find jobs? It is a transaction which is purely one sided & hence does not work.
Forming deep relationships is a wonderful way to network. Everyone wants to have deep relationships which are for the long term. This is one of the best ways of networking.
Connecting people together so that they can benefit is a good way to network. It helps you become a relationship broker. Few people do this.
Giving to your network is a powerful way to network. If you can help more people it is a good way to network. Those who give freely get freely.
