It's easy to get jaded, even about things you like, in a pandemic. It's easy to lose sight of why you care about the things you care about. The routine is the same day after day, and Groundhog Day—though fun to watch—isn't a film any of us would've liked to live in. Yet, here we are. But this jadedness also brings in a layer of appreciation for everything that helps you break out of it. And this was truly one of those weeks for me, and that too, thanks to work. I count myself lucky because not many people get to say that.
Here, @Mumbai Multimedia Studio, we take a lot of pride in the kind of ambitious stories we publish. Be it the doggedness with which our reporters carry out investigations or the sharpness they bring to analysing numbers, or even the conviction they have while laying out a narrative few others in the media would've spotted, there's a rigour that comes with this job. And it's a rigour that's now so in-built, it takes a week like the past—with back-to-back stellar stories—week to truly appreciate... and snap out of one's jaded pandemic bubble.
